Here at #MakeupbyChey, we made sure to make sure that each and every product was made with love and care. Each product is also tested by the owner herself. However, the FDA does NOT approve of ANY glitter used for cosmetic use. 

Many companies sell glitter, so how could that be true? Well, this is where you're going to want to tune in. 

 

There are different types of glitter. Cosmetic, and Craft. The difference is what is used to make the glitter, and sizing. Cosmetic glitters use plastics or phthalates, which the FDA deems unsafe due to unknown risks. However, companies have gotten around this for years because of the CIR. The CIR Or Cosmetic Ingredient Review allows these plastic glitters for cosmetic use, but the FDA overrules and ignores that information, which is why, legally speaking, no 'cosmetic glitter' is actually cosmetic. Craft glitters can be made with a variety of things, and because of this, WE CANNOT ADVISE YOU TO USE CRAFT GLITTERS ON YOUR EYES!

This disclaimer is meant to explain that each customer needs to take precaution when applying ANY glitter to the eye area. Anything that falls into your eye, can cause irritation. We ARE NOT responsible for how the customer applies the glitters. In this disclaimer, we explained that glitter used around the eyes is deemed unsafe and, and we will not be held responsible for improper usage.

NEON PIGMENTS

 

The FDA does not approve of neon or UV reactive pigments, because they have not been thoroughly tested.  Here at #MakeupbyChey, we have tested ALL of our neon pigments on ourselves, and have used them with no problems or reactions to the skin.  Cosmetic products DO NOT need FDA approval to be marketed, However, the FDA leaves it up to the manufacturer to ensure the safety of cosmetic products. NO specific tests are required to show safety, but they state that companies are to make sure that they do whatever testing possible to make sure that cosmetic products are safe on to use on skin.  None of our products are on the FDA's list for prohibited & restricted ingredients.
